Tanya Radix - Nurse Practitioner (RNEC)

Medical Weight Management, Perimenopause & Menopause Care

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, I am passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care with a strong focus on women’s health and health equity. I believe in taking the time to truly listen, understand each patient’s unique concerns, and work collaboratively to create individualized treatment plans that support both immediate symptoms and long-term wellness.

I am committed to providing thorough, whole-person care that considers the many interconnected aspects of health, including cardiovascular health, genitourinary and sexual health, weight and metabolic health, mental well-being, and preventative cancer screening. Diagnostic testing and laboratory work are covered through provincial healthcare plans, and prescribed medications are covered under individual drug benefit plans.

I believe perimenopause and menopause are often overlooked, despite being an incredibly important transition in a woman’s life. Women will spend approximately 30-50% of their adult lives after menopause, making it essential to address not only symptoms, but also the long-term impacts on overall health, quality of life, and future disease prevention.

My goal is to create a supportive, respectful environment where women feel heard, informed, and empowered in their healthcare decisions. I am excited to work alongside women during this important stage of life and help them navigate it with confidence, knowledge, and comprehensive care.

My Journey

Throughout my career in healthcare, I have found myself continually drawn to areas where patients are struggling to access supportive, informed, and compassionate care. I believe one of my greatest strengths is identifying gaps within our healthcare system — particularly where patients feel dismissed, underserved, or left to navigate complex health concerns on their own — and then working to create meaningful solutions to address those gaps.

Creating a menopause and medical weight management clinic grew from both professional experience and personal values. I quickly recognized that menopause care remains a major gap in our current healthcare landscape, despite women spending nearly one-third of their lives in the postmenopausal stage. Too many women are told their symptoms are simply something they must “push through,” leaving them without education, treatment options, or support during a major life transition that can affect nearly every aspect of health and well-being.

Similarly, I saw how weight concerns are often approached through stigma and judgment rather than evidence-based, compassionate healthcare. Many patients have experienced shame, dismissal, or oversimplified advice instead of receiving comprehensive assessment and individualized support. I wanted to create a space where patients feel heard, respected, and cared for without bias.

As a feminist, I am deeply aware of the longstanding health inequities women face — from underfunded research and lack of education surrounding women’s health conditions, to the normalization and minimization of symptoms that significantly impact quality of life. My goal is not only to provide collaborative, evidence-based care to women navigating menopause, hormonal changes, and metabolic health concerns, but also to contribute to broader systemic change.

In addition to clinical care, I hope to advocate for improved women’s health education, research, policy, and accessibility by working with government bodies, ministries of health, and healthcare organizations to bring greater attention to these often-overlooked areas of medicine. Every woman deserves access to informed, respectful, and comprehensive healthcare, and I am excited to be part of helping move that conversation — and care — forward.
