What is Zepbound?
Zepbound (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable medication that can help support weight loss by reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, and helping individuals consume fewer calories. When combined with healthy lifestyle changes, including nutrition and physical activity, Mounjaro has been shown to produce significant and sustained weight loss in clinical studies.
According to the updated Canadian Adult Obesity Clinical Practice Guidelines, tirzepatide (Zepbound®) is one of the most effective medications currently available for chronic weight management when combined with healthy lifestyle changes. Clinical trials have demonstrated average weight loss of approximately 15–22% of initial body weight, depending on the dose used and duration of treatment.
Individual results vary, and some people achieve even greater weight loss. The goal of treatment is not simply a lower number on the scale, but improvements in overall health, including blood sugar control, blood pressure, sleep apnea, mobility, quality of life, and other weight-related health conditions.
As with all obesity treatments, the best results are seen when medication is combined with sustainable nutrition, physical activity, sleep optimization, and ongoing medical support. Long-term treatment is often recommended to help maintain weight loss and prevent weight regain.
